Founded in 1989 by Joël Briguet, the La Romaine cellar produces high quality wines. The assets of this estate are its excellent wines as well as the relationship of trust maintained with its customers and partners. THE CAVE LA ROMAINE VINEYARD

The vineyard of the La Romaine cellar is located on the right bank of the Rhône, offering a privileged location. It has 24 different grape varieties, all cultivated with the same care by Joël Briguet and his passionate team.

It is attached to the values of protecting nature and the environment, which is why the estate has been undergoing organic conversion since 2019.

JOËL BRIGUET PUTS HIS PASSION TO THE SERVICE OF WINE

Joël Briguet decided to become a winemaker because since his childhood, he was immersed in the world of vines. In fact, his father was a wine nurseryman. Joël therefore naturally turned to the profession of winemaker. He is also an oenologist graduated from the Changins school.

“Ever since I was a child, I knew I wanted to be a winemaker.”

Here is what excites him about his job:

Work in the vineyard.
Contact with clients. He appreciates their curiosity and loyalty.
Carry out tours of the cellar and explain his profession to his customers, who are showing increasing interest in it.

Now, young people are very interested in knowing about wines and the winegrower's profession. It really makes me happy that they appreciate all the work that goes into the bottle they taste.

A LOYAL CUSTOMER

Joël Briguet says that it is his loyal customers who motivate him to produce quality and achieve good results in the cellar.

He appreciates the conviviality and human connections that are formed over time with his clients. For some, this relationship has even transformed into friendship, built around a passion for the land.

CORNALIN: VALAIS TREASURE FROM CAVE LA ROMAINE

Although he takes care of all his wines, Joël Briguet explains that he is particularly fond of a native wine, Cornalin. It is one of the flagship wines of the La Romaine cellar. And for good reason, Flanthey is even the reference village of Cornalin.

Aromatically, Cornalin is an explosion of fruits, cherries and morello cherries.

Except in the Aosta Valley where it is called Humagne Rouge, it is a grape variety that is only found in Valais, which represents a strength compared to other more international grape varieties.
